Day 3 Yoga with Adriene

Good morning/ afternoon/ evening!

Today’s session I can really recommend. If you’re feeling a bit frazzled, down, stressed and even if you already feel great too of course. It’s a lot about breathing and stretching. You get a little bit warm and there is a good “plank” moment in here to push a little (at least for me)! Adriene reminds you to smile and to be positive. For me so far, all of these sessions have been a great start to my mornings! I’ll admit that I do struggle a bit with getting up so early, but once on the mat- that’s my time. So I really recommend! Just go for it. I think sometimes a lot of us think about all the things that we should/ need to do. This yoga challenge this week I’d say- just do it! Why are you hesitating?! It’s for you!!!

Bathroom inspiration from Jotex

I came across these bath towels on a website called Jotex . It’s actually a Swedish company that was founded in 1963 by Sven-Åke Johansson in Gnosjö. It sounds like his idea was to make curtains accessible all year round for homes. Supposedly it was to ensure that you could change curtains every season. The name Jotex is from his last name Jo+tex as in textile. I don’t change curtains every season. In Denmark it actually doesn’t seem to be popular at all! But Jotex also have other items for the home. I saw some towels that I’d like to add, which I think will spruce up our bathroom a bit. I also love the name “Happy”. So these are definitely on my wish list for this autumn!

Day 2 Yoga with Adriene

Day 2 complete. This Yoga Detox is a 20+ minute session full of great flow- of breathing and movement. You get a little bit warm after and can actually feel the energy flow in your body. I love when her dog Benji steps into the screen as well. He is also very relaxed. I also like how you can see how Adriene truly loves what she does and to me, she makes me think about putting a smile to my face. It actually helps!

As I’ve stated earlier, I’m no Yoga teacher or Doctor but yoga really works for me. My weeks are usually extremely busy with family and everything that comes with that and managing a full time job! So to start the day with time set a side just for me, is a great way for me to start my day. This morning it was darkish outside so I also lit a candle. I also made myself a nice vanilla Nespresso. Of course any hot drink (or cold!) works as well. It’s whatever you prefer! I’m a big believer in balance and choices. You do what works for you- right?!

I really recommend any session by Adriene. Just go out on your mat and set aside 20 minutes of your day- just for you. You know it makes sense and that it is a great investment in you and your future self!

Day 1 Yoga with Adriene

Day 1 complete! I will document the sessions here every day- to keep me and you motivated to do it! Yes it was hard getting up when the alarm went of at 5:55… Outside is dark, rain is hammering down and it’s very gusty. But now after this morning session I actually feel pretty good. Just be careful as this is quite an energising session so important to listen to your body and do what you can. (Note I am not a qualified yoga teacher or doctor at all!!!).

Bring out your mat on the floor, prepare your coffee or tea to be ready after these 25 minutes and enjoy this journey! I really recommend.

Yoga with Adriene; weekly challenge to make you feel great!

Now it’s time to get ready for the week. Depending on where you are, you might have a few more hours left or maybe it’s later in the evening. Last week, I talked a little bit about stress, which is something that I think we all experience more or less in our lives. One thing that I know truly helps me, is to do yoga regularly. I have to admit that sometimes I do not take the time to properly invest in myself and in my health. That’s why this week’s challenge will be to do a yoga session every day for 7 days straight! Set your alarm and wake up 25 minutes earlier than normal. Put the kettle or the coffee machine on, bring out your yoga mat on the floor (if you have one) and also a small towel or pillow and look up Yoga with Adriene on YouTube. You can do this with such minimal effort and it will not cost you a penny! A great investment in you!

I recommend the following sequence (but please do as you see fit):

Monday morning: An energising morning sequence that lasts for 25 minutes. I think that if we really want to and make that effort- we can all do this- right?

A Yoga Wash Detox Flow, which is 23 minutes long. After this one, you will feel great!

Then on Wednesday when we might feel a little bit flustered and need some calming influence I recommend this session:

Then, what better way to start your Thursday than with a stretch session. This one is only a little bit more than 20 minutes long. Try it!

Friday evening after a long week to wind down and prepare for another great weekend, I recommend this 11 minute session to ensure a great sleep!

Meditation

Then why not start your weekend with this slightly longer session for your whole body? It’s 50 minutes long but hopefully you have a little bit more time on Saturday to spend and invest in yourself?!

Self Love

After 6 days straight of doing Yoga I propose a calming practice that’s a little bit longer than 17 minutes.

Movement Medicine

This will be a real challenge for me. I know how easy it is to press that snooze button and get up a little bit later! But this week, starting tomorrow, I will put myself and my health first by investing in me, and to take time and do this challenge. I’m a big fan of Adriene. She’s done such an amazing journey and really believes in the message she’s relaying. I really, really recommend and hope that some of you will join me and be on your mat sometime tomorrow and for the next seven days! Come on, you know that this makes perfect sense!!!

Høst in Copenhagen a true gem that delivers

This weekend the weather has truly been proper autumn weather. Short bursts of rain and wind gusts followed by sunshine and blue sky. Copenhagen is actually quite a “foodie” city. Something that took me a little bit of a surprise to be completely honest with you!

Guide Michelin has awarded a total of 19 stars to 15 restaurants here in 2018. I love dining experiences and good food! There is nothing better than to explore new flavours and courses and to do this in great company of truly great friends!

Høst is a true gem located near Nørreport. It’s cozy and beautifully decorated. It’s warm and inviting. The walls are exposed brick work and inside are also trees, which add a little bit of quirkiness to the place.

The food… is quite an experience. The menu is set and changes regularly. You can pick a 3- or a 5- course menu. If you so wish, this can be accompanied by wine pairing or home made lemonades. Trust me, that you will not leave this place hungry! They also offer fresh bread with whipped butter, which is divine. The courses are local and inspired by the Nordics. This time around they offer an amazing fish dish, blue mussel soup which I just couldn’t make justice by describing it here. The dessert just doesn’t make any sense when you read the description but was so delicious with crazy flavours! There were also a lot of surprise elements to the dining experience. I don’t want to divulge too much just in case you ever decide to go there. Then you need to experience it yourself. All I can say is that I really recommend a visit here. Just make sure that you book a table in advance as it gets very full and booked early on! I recommend.
